Walking in Love into 2025

Merry Christmas to our CFC Family;

On this eve of Christmas Eve, I find myself reflecting deeply on the season of Advent and all that it represents—hope, peace, joy, and love. In just two days, we will celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the One who came to bring light into our world and hope into our hearts.

As we approach the close of 2024, I can’t help but think about the year ahead. In doing so, I want to share something that has been weighing heavily on my heart. As I get older, my perspective and passions as a pastor have in some ways changed or matured. Perhaps it’s because I’m getting older or simply that I see life a little differently, but now, in my 33rd year of ministry, I find myself even more focused on answering the important question: How will we impact the world around us in 2025 and beyond?

This morning, my dear friend Alon from Israel sent me a short video featuring Evangelist Mario Murillo, who shared a powerful message about the amazing work God is doing in the United States. For the first time in his ministry, more non-churchgoers—unsaved people—are attending his outreach meetings than believers. That there is a deep spiritual hunger stirring across the United States, and this same hunger is being reported in many other places around the world as well.

As your pastor, I believe that the years 2025 and beyond will mark a time in world history when God stirs the very foundations of our world. Changes are coming that will challenge God’s church to re-evaluate its mandate and purpose. In this process, I believe many churches that are grounded in the Word, will become even more evangelistically driven than ever before.

I believe with all my heart that God has called us at CFC to be that light in our community like never before—to serve with compassion and bring the transformative power of the Gospel into the everyday lives of those around us. We are called to be a church that is active in the world, loving our neighbors, and meeting real needs—whether through acts of kindness, spiritual healing, or simply being present in the lives of those who are hurting.

In 2025, I want us to be a church that isn’t simply concerned with growing bigger, but growing deeper in our faith, love, and impact. I want us to be a church known for its generosity, its heart for the lost, and its willingness to step into difficult places with the grace and truth of Jesus.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us remember that Jesus came to show us the way to love, to serve, and to transform. His mission becomes our mission. My prayer for all of us as we step into 2025 is that we would be a church that impacts our community, our nation, and our world in ways that bring glory to God and advance His Kingdom.

Question: How will your 2025 be different for the Lord than 2024?

Have a blessed day and we’ll see you Sunday!
