Have you ever seen that sparkle in a child's eyes when he or she
gets to open a present at Christmas time? Have you ever felt the joy
of being the one responsible for that sparkle? Do you know that you
can light up the eyes of a child somewhere in the world with just a
shoebox?
Yes, all it takes is a shoebox filled with smaller gifts to bring a
message of hope and love to children in desperate situations around
the world. Over six million boxes in one year were distributed to
children in 95 countries throughout Latin America, Eastern Europe,
Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Samaritans Purse, under the title Operation Christmas Child,
organizes this project each year to present the message of Jesus
Christ to millions of children and their families. This project can
only continue with the help of people like you and me. All it takes
is a bit of time, a minimal amount of money, and the excitement of
knowing you can make a difference in the life of a child who may not
know what Christmas is.
