Authority
1.01) All authority in spiritual matters is
rooted in the Word of God as directed by the
Holy Spirit.
Confession of Faith
2.01) We believe the Scripture, both Old and New
Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God,
without error in the original writings, the
complete revelation of His will for the
salvation of men, and the divine and final
authority for all Christian faith and life. (2
Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 1 Thessalonians
2:3.)
2.02) We believe in One God, Creator of all
things, infinitely perfect, and eternally
existing in three Persons, Father Son and Holy
Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:30; Hebrews
1:1-5; 2Corinthians 13:14)
2.03) We believe that Jesus Christ is true God
and man, having been conceived of the Holy
Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on
the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and arose
bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven,
where He is at the right hand of God the Father.
He now is our High Priest and Advocate and He
will personally and imminently return to receive
the Church unto Himself. (Matthew 16:16, Luke
1:31-33).
2.04) We believe that the ministry of the Holy
Spirit is to Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to
convict men, to regenerate the repentant sinner,
and to indwell, guide, instruct and empower the
believer for godly living and service. (John
14:16,17,26; 15:26; 16:7-14).
2.05) We believe that Satan is a real and
supernatural personality, an enemy of God and
all good (Matthew 4:1-11); that he was cast out
of heaven with his angels (Isaiah 14:12-17) and
his final doom is hell (Revelations 20:7-10); he
is to be resisted by the believers on the basis
of victory procured by Christ on the cross
(James 4:7, Eph.2: 6),
2.06) We believe that man was created in the
image of God, but by sin fell from grace, and
although he retains his dignity as in the image
of God, he is nonetheless lost, and only through
regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation
and spiritual life be obtained. (Genises1: 26 &
27; Acts1: 19; John1: 12)
2.07) We believe that the shed blood of Jesus
Christ and His resurrection provide the only
ground for justification and salvation for all
who believe, and only those who receive Jesus
Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus
become children of God. (John3: 3,8; Rom. 3:24;
Eph.1: 7: 1 John 3:2; 1Peter 1:4).
2.08) We believe that we have been called with a
holy calling to live a life of separation from
sin and the world. (Eph.1: 4; 1Peter1: 15; Col.
1:22, In. 17:14; Rom. 12:2).
2.09) We believe that water baptism and the
Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by
members of this church. They are, however, not
to be regarded as a means of salvation. (Mat.28:
19; Acts 2:38; Gal 3:27).
2.10) We believe that the True Church is
composed of persons who through saving faith in
Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy
Spirit and are united together in the body of
Christ who is the head of the church. Only those
who are saved by faith through Jesus Christ’s
work on the cross shall be eligible for
membership. (Math.16: 18; Ephesians 1: 23;
17:30; Gal. 3:26; Acts 2.)
2.11) We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord
and the Head of the Church, and that every local
church has the responsibility to discern the
will of God. (Eph. 1: 22-23, 4:15-16, Col 1:18).
2.12) We believe in the personal and imminent
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this
Blessed Hope has a vital bearing on the personal
life and service of the believer and Mission of
the Church. (l John 3:2-3, Titus 2:2-3.)
2.13) We believe in the bodily resurrection of
the dead, of the believer to everlasting
blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the
unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious
punishment in hell. (1Cor15:12-56, Rev 20:11-15)
2.14) We believe the institution of marriage is
the union of one man and one woman for a
lifetime to the exclusion of all others. For
believers, only death, adultery or desertion by
an unbelieving spouse can dissolve the marriage.
(Mat.19:1-9; 1 Cor.7.)
2.15) We believe in the Biblical teaching of
peace, love, and non-resistance as Christ
himself practiced this in life, and as we learn
it from the teachings of Christ and the
apostles. (Math. 5:38-48; Math. 26:47-56; Luke
6:27-38; John 18:33-37; Rom. 12:17; 1Cor.12;
1Peter 3:9).
2.16) We believe in the practice of church
discipline according to New Testament teaching.
(Math, 18:15-18; 1 Cor.5:5; 2Cor. 6:17; Titus 3:
10; Gal. 6:1).
2.17) We believe in avoidance of the oath.
(Math.5:33-37).
2.18) We believe that a Christian should live
for the glory of God and the well being of our
fellow men. His conduct should be blameless
before the world and he should be a faithful
steward of his possessions, seeking to realize
for himself and others the full stature of
maturity in Christ. (1Cor.10:23-31; 6:19-20;
2Cor. 6;14-18; 2 Peter 3:14; 1 Peter 2:9-20).
2.19) We believe in ‘one man for one woman’ and
‘a man with a man or woman with a woman’ is an
abomination to the Lord. Rom. 1:26,27.Lev.
18:22,24. 1 Cor. 6:9,10.
